When the wide-bodied Airbus A380 aircraft entered into service in 2007, Frankfurt’s Rhine-Main Airport faced a number of new air and landside challenges. It was imperative that during the modification of the apron, the construction of the respective docking positions and terminal areas, the interdependencies of the individual projects be taken into account. Thus, the various projects had to be co-ordinated and run as over-arching, cross-disciplinary projects, and the groundwork laid for all legal approvals processes and for operations.
PROPROJEKT was appointed to provide overall monitoring of the individual projects in order to lay the foundations for the smooth and timely implementation of this prestigious project. The professional, on-schedule preparation was borne out by the successful realisation of the first test flight in Frankfurt in October 2005.
