Prospect
Zurich Airport
Zurich Airport region set out to devise a regional concept for long-term infrastructure development. The major goals: to guarantee long-term flexibility, minimise any negative impact of air traffic on the population, and develop firm planning criteria.
The project management took its cue from the Vienna model to ensure an unbiased approach. An accompanying commission of independent experts and an expert panel were established, both chaired by Prof. Bernd Scholl. The committee consisted of officials from the departments of regional planning and surveying (ARV) and transportation (AFV) as well as representatives of Zurich Airport (Unique), Skyguide, and Swiss International Airline. PROPROJEKT CEO Hanskarl Protzmann was part of the expert panel for the entire duration of the project, namely from October 2003 until March 2004.
